Why sustainable?
Second-hand stores are a more sustainable way of shopping. They don't participate in the global trend of fast fashion. They recycle and resell old undesired items, giving them a second chance. This way, they help towards a circular economy. In addition, fewer resources are required, as products are reused. For example, less cotton has to be grown for our clothes, and our fossil fuel consumption is reduced in the production process.
Sustainable cities and communities: By upcycling these second-hand items, Ansje contributes to the overall sustainability of a city and its community, by raising their awareness.
Responsible consumption and production: This SDG ensures that the production and consumption of things (such as fashion) are done in a sustainable and responsible way.
Climate Action: Ansje helps this SDG because it upcycles old clothes, thus avoiding, if ever so slightly, the production of new ones, thus reducing the energy and material spent for production.
