The municipality of The Hague asked Initiaves of Change (IofC) to set up and support a circle of places of worship that support sustainability. Therefore, IofC created Believing In Green, where three different religious communities (Hindus, Christians and Muslims) inspire each other and collaborate together, mainly with a focus on creating sustainable places of worship.
Believing in Green is a sustainable initiative because it raises awareness and creates collective action regarding the creation of a sustainable environment. Different religious communitiesexchange knowledge and experience regarding energy management and gardening. They try to take action by installing solar panels, using LED lights, creating gardens and recycling in places of worship.
Affordable and Clean Energy: They take action to use renewable energy sources in places of worship.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: Believing in Green adopts plans toward sustainable places of worship in the community.
Life on land: They work to restore biodiversity by creating more gardens.
