The European Climate Foundation is a global network of organizations invested in solving the climate crisis. The ECF provides funding for initiatives that seek to reduce environmental impact and aims to support the policies of the EU. They also provide support for local initiatives and advice the European Union on climate matters.
Why sustainable?
The ECF is aware that politicians can only do so much in battling climate change as a societal consensus is needed to achieve for example a net-zero emissions economy. It seeks to ensure that society and businesses do their part in working towards a sustainable environment by financing green initiatives.The organization supports sustainable ideas because they believe that the threats of climate change are real and should be acted upon immediately through cooperation and action on all levels.
Affordable and Clean Energy: The ECF collaborated with several other organizations to form the Electrification Alliance.
Industry Innovation and Infrastructure: The ECF has started the Industrial Transformation 2050 initiative that is aimed at setting outgoals for businesses to fulfil the Paris Agreement requirements.
Climate Action: The ECF commissioned a report about the possibility of a net-zero emission agriculture.
