Gered Gereedschap The Hague collects second hand tools as well assewing machines. These tools are repaired in a workshop in Binkhorst in the Hague. Once repaired the tools are distributed to schools and training centers in Africa and Asia. In doing this, the organisation supports people in developing countries in their job training.
Why sustainable?
Through the help of volunteers, the organization supports people in developing countries in learning a craft and gaining independence. Thus, the organization is sustainable on three levels: It recycles old tools and sewing machines, it provides jobs locally and even in developing countries.
No Poverty: Gered Gereedschap encourages the creation of jobs and supports people in gaining job skills in developing countries.
Responsible Consumption and Production: The organisation recycles old materials and redistributes them to bring them to new use.
