Lola Bikes and Coffee is a local café with a twist, as it combines a comfortable ambiance and great coffee and food with a bike repair shop. In addition, they frequently offer coffee-related workshops, and they are home to the Lola Cycling Club.
Why sustainable?
The coffee they sell in the café is socially sustainable: they directly interact with their supplying coffee farmer: Hernando “Meko” Gutierrez, a fourth-generation Colombian coffee farmer. In addition, they also support other coffee farmers in a project called “Amani”.And... of course, they support biking... getting around does also more sustainable.
Reduced Inequalities: through the development project “Amani” and the direct affiliation with the coffee farmers, Lola ensures to reduce distance and promote equality
Sustainable Cities and Communities: the concept of combining a bike repair shop and a café is a community project as well as sustainable in terms of city planning
Responsible Consumption and Production: inviting guests to repair their goods, and letting them know where the products come from, is a clear sign of sustainable consumerism
