With NL Cares, you can volunteer in your city or neighborhood, whenever it is most convenient for you. No long-term obligations but instead short, meaningful activities with a big impact. It's easy: find a job you like, register and sign up. They focus mainly on young people with a busy schedule who want to make a difference and are active in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
Why sustainable?
NL Cares hosts a variety of volunteer activities. For instance, their project GroenGoed! is a gardening initiative aimed at building self-sufficiency amongst participants, combatting poverty within the region, and contributing to sustainable cities. Other projects include language cafes for refugees, food boxes for the homeless, etc. NL Cares plays a significant role in the sustainability framework in many ways, such as: Complementing essential basic services where they are lacking and mobilizing people to develop awareness about the challenges they are facing.
Quality Education: They provide lessons to those who cannot afford tutoring, education for people with intellectual disabilities, night school for the elderly, refugees etc.
Responsible Consumption and Production: NLCares promotes self-sufficient communal gardening and farming. Produce is shared amongst volunteers and donated to food banks.
