As its name suggests, Plenty is a 100% plant based café. They serve mostly breakfast foods, cakes and coffee but they also have a few lunch options, such as sandwiches and soups. Plenty is famous for its delicious cinnamon rolls, which can be quite hard to find for those on a vegan diet.
Why sustainable?
Firstly, they are sustainable as they only serve plant-based dishes, therefore not contributing to the greenhouse gas emissions realted to the dairy and meat industries. Secondly, by recreating popular meat-based meals with vegan alternatives, they encourage consumers to switch to a planet-friendly diet. Moreover, the foods that are not prepared on-site are bought locally, such as the bread that comes from Meneer Leffers (a local bakery), or the croissants made by Epicurieus (vegan pastry business). Finally, all their packaging is recyclable or compostable, and they do not use any plastic.
Responsible Consumption and Production: Their packaging is either recyclable or compostable and they do not use any plastic materials, reducing waste and promoting responsible consumerism.
Climate Action: Plenty reduces greenhouse gas emissions by not using any meat or dairy for their dishes.
Life on land: Eating plant-based diets helps protect our rainforests and biodiversity.
