Designed with a sustainable vision, the Proeftuin Erasmusveld is an urban residential district located in Noordweg, The Hague. It offers a green and interactive environment where people can pursue healthy, eco-friendly life in the long run.
Why sustainable?
The Proeftuin Erasmusveld consists of energy-efficient housings, public pavilions and greenery, and the 1500 square-meter ‘city field’ which has the potential to increase biodiversity and feed the residents with vegetables and plants. Furthermore, the project aims at building an environmentally conscious, close-knit community.
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: This residential area is designed to blend community living with sustainability through the use of energy-efficient housings, compost systems, etc.
stainable Cities and Communities: The project raises awareness both in residents and the general public, and helps create a tight-knit, sustainable city/community.
Life on Land: The compost system enriches the soil and increases biodiversity. The ‘city field’ provides the residents with a self-sufficient, sustainable food-production system.
