Simple Sprouts is a local online shop that sells homegrown herbs and vegetables. It was founded by a group of students whose mission it is to share the love for plants and to make it as easy as possible for people to grown their own. They sell a variety of plant species and deliver them to your door.
Why sustainable?
Simple Sprouts’ project creates awareness about more sustainable ways of getting vegetables and herbs. They accomplish this by providing people with a nice and easy way of growing them at home. This will reduce the need to buy pre-packaged herbs and vegetables at the supermarket, reducing the overall footprint. Furthermore, they only deliver to The Hague, Voorburg, Leiden, Delft, Zoetermeer, and Bleiswijk, thereby limiting the food-miles, and minimizing CO2 emissions.
Good health and well-being: Growing one’s own products from Simple Sprouts ensures there are no fertilizers and pesticides used in the process of growing herbs and vegetables, which contributes to better health.
Climate action: By growing Simple Sprouts' products at home, the overall footprint is reduced, as there is a smaller contribution to greenhouse gas emissions from production, processing and transport.
