The Sustainability in The Hague Neighbourhood (SiTH) community project aims to encourage citizens all around the city to contribute to the city's goal of becoming climate neutral by 2040. For this, the government grants neighborhood groups a budget of 8.000€, which they can invest in developing and executing their sustainable ideas.
Why sustainable?
This projectencourages citizens to participate and change their behaviour, whilst building a healthy and sustainable community. This neighborhood cooperationis the first step when trying to increase sustainability. A few example projects that have been incorporated are the plantation of neighborhood gardens or the installation of solar panels.
Affordable and Clean Energy: Projects and ideas relating to the energy transition are sponsored.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: Local communities are made more sustainable by sponsoring ideas and encouraging participation in tackling environmental issues on a small scale.
