Too Good To Go is an international company focusing on tackling food waste by offering restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets an opportunity to sell food at a discounted price. This food would otherwise run the risk of being thrown out. Customers can register on the app and choose an order to pick up. Orders include a variety of products that are expiring on the day of purchase, therefore being sold at a lower price than regularly. Although not based in the Hague, many stores in the area participate in the initiative.
Why sustainable?
Too Good To Go tackles the pressing issue of food waste. While saving products that would have been discarded, the organization allows producers to generate profit that would have otherwise been lost. It also provides consumers a chance to buy cheaper food, therefore allowing people with less money more access to food while simultaneously preventing excess waste.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: Too Good To Go offers restaurants and food stores the opportunity to be more sustainable in their food disposal and provides them with profit that would otherwise have been lost.
