Zonnepark ‘t Oor Den Haag is an eco-solar park that was completed in July 2020. Divided by a bike track, the solar park consists of two collections of solar panels - one by Helena Sustainable Innovations, and another by Energie van Hollandsche Bodem. In total, the park contains 7000 panels to provide energy for 900 households. Furthermore, the park has ecological gardens maintained by volunteers.
Why sustainable?
This park contributes to the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources - in this case solar energy. The 900 households which rely on the energy generated by the solar park are less dependent on finite energy sources. In addition, the park helps to reduce carbon emissions.
Affordable and Clean Energy: The initiative uses solar energy instead of fossil fuels.
Responsible Consumption and Production: Providing renewable energy for 900 households means that this community does not contribute to carbon emissions.
Climate Action: The park prevents CO2 emissions by providing renewable energy.
