Vintage Island has several stores throughout the Netherlands selling second-hand, vintage clothing. Vintage Island is known for their vast collection of boots, as well as for their vintage women's and men's wear. The majority of the clothing they sell is second-hand and are imported from a variety of countries.
Why sustainable?
Vintage Island is sustainable as it does not produce new clothing. By selling second-hand clothes, it reduces the use of new resources. Vintage Island is thus giving a new life to old clothing items without producing all the waste that comes with producing and selling brand new garments.
Decent work and economic growth: When purchasing from Vintage Island as opposed to fast fashion brands, consumers are no longer contributing to underpaid labor.
Responsible Consumption and Production: Vintage Island gives a new life to existing clothing, thereby reducing consumption and production of new clothing.
Climate Action: Due to Vintage Island's reuse of clothing, chemical pollution and greenhouse gas emissions are limited.
